GALLERIES OF MY WORK
When I reflect back on the work that I have produced over the last 25 years, I see a thread throughout, a search for a sense of identity, belonging, connection. I make pictures of what interests me, what relates to my being, of my perspectives on life. I find that I lean towards that which encourages an emotional response in myself and perhaps others too. Form and the aesthetic are important qualities for me, allowing for harmony and balance, feeling and beauty - 'beauty' a concept that seems avoided in contemporary artwork yet valued in the past.
I have always been interested in craft work, producing and making things by hand. There is something essential in this physical connection. As a photographer, I have always printed my own work, from silver gelatin darkroom prints to inkjet pigment prints and most recently photogravure (photo-etching) prints.
