TRAVEL

HOW TO GET HERE

We are located in north-western Spain, in a region called Galicia. The nearest towns are Monforte de Lemos and Sarria. The nearest big cities are Lugo and Ourense. See the map below.

The regional airports in Galicia are at Santiago de Compostela and A Coruña, both less than 2 hours by car. Some European airports serve these destinations directly.

Otherwise the airports in Madrid and Barcelona serve most international flights. From either of these airports you can take an internal flight to the regional airports in Galicia, or take a train or hire a car to travel overland.

Porto airport in northern Portugal is approx 3 hours by car and may also be useful.

There are train and bus connections between the airports and our local towns. Car rental from the airports and cities is also available.

We can arrange for regional airport pick-up/drop-off by private car or taxi. This would  be an additional cost. Please let us know if you would like more information about this.

Depending on where you are coming from, the main options to get here by air are:

  • fly to Madrid/Barcelona airport + fly to regional airport + bus/train/taxi/car hire

  • fly to Madrid/Barcelona airport + bus/train/taxi/car hire

  • fly to regional Galicia airport + bus/train/taxi/car hire

Alternatively you may travel from a neighbouring European destination in your own car or other public transport.
